VOLUNTEERS

Thanks for showing an interest in Surplus Festival.  We are always looking for volunteers to help with the festival - from stewards to litter pickers to help in the kids area or with games & activities. If you're interested in becoming part of the surplus family please read in the info below, fill out the form and return it to us as soon as possible.

***UPDATE: we are specifically looking for the following:***

LITTER PICKERS

CARPENTERS TO HELP WITH BUILDING COMPOSTING LOOS

GENERAL SKILLED VOLUNTEERS TO HELP WITH BUILD & BREAK (2-4 days before & after festival)

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

THE FESTIVAL: Surplusfest is a Not-for-Profit organisation holding a 3 Day festival event, which includes camping for the general public, workers and artists.

SHIFTS: All Volunteers are expected to work a total of 12 hours – this may be 3x 4h shifts or 2 x 6h shifts (TBC).  You will need to see your supervisor at the start and end of your shift to be signed off. If your application is accepted, we will discuss your preferred shifts at a later date. Please note that these can’t always be accommodated but we will try our best.

ARRIVAL: Volunteers are asked to arrive on site on Thursday 29th June between 9am and 10pm to attend a team briefing that evening (please note, gates will be closed after 10pm). We appreciate that some people have work commitments, however, so if this is not feasible please provide details of when you will be arriving on site on the form attached (please note you will still need to work 12 hours over the weekend).

DEPOSIT:  We will require a deposit for £70 before the festival. This will be returned to you at the end of the festival, providing that all shifts have been signed off. Please note that if you are deemed unfit to carry out your shift by your supervisor you will also forfeit your deposit.

FOOD: We will provide one hot meal per shift. Tea & Coffee will also be made available.

CAMPING: please note that camping will be provided in the crew camping field.

DOGS & CHILDREN: Any dogs brought on site will also need a ticket, and must be supervised by someone else when you are on shift. Under 16s also need a ticket (though this is free), and must be supervised by a responsible adult over 21 other than yourself when you are on shift.

Finally, please note that by volunteering to work for Surplusfest you agree to be bound by our general terms and conditions, which are available here.

Please fill out the attached form, and return it to us as soon as possible so we can process your application in plenty of time.

PLEASE NOTE: we will need you to include a scanned or digital copy of a passport photo with your application in order for it to be accepted – if you have any issues with this please let us know & we’ll try our best to help.

Please fill out the application form (downloadable here), and return it to us as soon as possible at enquiries@surplusfest.wales so we can process your application in plenty of time.

(if you have any issues downloading the form please email us directly & we'll get one out to you)

Once your application has been processed and accepted, we ask that you please confirm that you will be attending before 01/06/17.

Hope all is well and we look forward to seeing you in Summer! :-)

Many thanks,
